Walton reported: “Recently, whilst shadow boxing the apocalypse, and wandering the land, I came on the development of the environment, and the beginning of fireplace. I immediately spiraled round and spherical, and was right away sucked into the vortex of Hearth On The Mountain —The Movie. It has come to be a harmonic convergence of the greatest purchase, bringing alongside one another the finest of the ideal of the best—of every little thing, with as wonderful a team of youthful, dynamic, motion-determine super-heroes, as there is in the acknowledged universe. Like me, they appreciate the edge, mother nature, the groove, rhythm, activity, and the culture and rhythmic beat of the Grateful Lifeless. The new younger fellas questioned me to speak. I channeled everybody and anything I’ve regarded in my now 53 decades with the Grateful Lifeless. Mickey Hart, there from the starting, led a responsive cost to my connect with to motion. The end result is Fire On The Mountain—The Film, as wonderful a project and crew, driven by superb goal and music, as I’ve at any time been a section of.”

Improvisation is the silver thread that weaves this film jointly. Just as the Grateful Lifeless did not fit their music into an founded class, this quick film finds a cast of some of the world’s greatest athletes on an improvisational journey of snowboarding, snowboarding, surfing, and new music, complete with a soundtrack comprised of only Grateful Lifeless tunes. Shot for the duration of a snow and surf street journey, the journey commences in California where by the athletes embark on a mission into the mountains. Mid-film finds the cast caught in the remote waters of the North Pole, followed by a psychedelic dreamscape showing as skeletons shredding less than the moonlight at Mammoth Mountain, and surfing in Indonesia. Related to a Grateful Lifeless display, they start off and end in the exact same area, but each and every of their respective ordeals is a journey of their have.

“This is a job of persons, locations, and circumstances all woven with each other, attaining momentum and adapting as Mother Character orchestrates her plans—going with the snow, next the swell,” said filmmaker Chris Benchetler. “The Grateful Dead’s improvisational design and style lends alone to that identical flow. Letting a moment in time and space get above, collectively sharing that encounter, when the music blazes its system. This project has been about the appreciation for Earth, self-discovery, open-mindedness, and the improvisational jam of existence. We’re so energized for it to be airing on the home of sports activities, ESPN.”
