Nevada baseball has a shot at Mountain West Conference title

Nevada's Joshua Zamora, shown earlier this season, enters the Pack's final home series batting .360 with 12 home runs and 62 RBI.

One particular piece of essential organization has been taken care of by the Nevada baseball team.

Nevada (27-22 all round, 17-10 Mountain West) has already clinched a spot in the Mountain West tournament, which will be played future week in San Diego.

In the meantime, the Pack’s a few-sport series towards visiting Fresno Condition (25-27, 13-14) — Nevada’s final home online games of the year — will figure out if it can protect its Mountain West standard-year title.

The Pack and Bulldogs will play at 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and at 1 p.m. Saturday.

“We do want to complete (the conference year) strong, but we also want to win the weekend,” Nevada head coach TJ Bruce mentioned at Tuesday’s practice. “Your ambitions just can’t transform as you set out on the journey, from August to now.
