As beaches go you cannot get much more attractive than the stretch of beach in Tulum, lapped gently by the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea.
The Tulum beach has yet to be spoiled by the large all inclusive resorts of Cancun and the Riviera Maya, instead it is lined by cabanas and beach clubs that have a rustic yet chic charm. As you walk down the Tulum beach you can stop off at the beach clubs and grab a drink or a bite to eat and enjoy getting back to nature.
You can gain access to Tulum Beach via quite a few points. The first place to access it is by the Tulum Mayan ruins. You can actually park at the ruins for about 4 dollars, then walk to the beach. Basically you follow the road to the ruins then continue past them southbound and you will get to the beach.
You can find other places to access Tulum Beach along the main Tulum hotel zone. This is where all the cabana hotels are located. Finding somewhere to park can be a problem but when you have you can just head through to the beach. We often walk through one of the hotels and stop for a drink at the beach club.
The Tulum beach is all public, there is no private beach in the area, however sometimes access is blocked by a hotel or a residential property. Most of the little cabanas in Tulum don not mind if you nip through to get to the beach though, especially if you stop for something to eat or drink.
For the more adventurous person there are beaches around Tulum that can be accessed through the jungle and you will find yourself completely alone, however I recommend you that if you don not know the area that you should stay on the beaches by the cabanas, they are never busy like in Cancun or Playa del Carmen.
If you are in or around the Tulum Beach stop by, you definitely will not regret it.
